Class 1E - Alarm Monitoring Centre

This course is specifically designed for those persons who wish to work in a security monitoring centre or Grade 1 Central Station. A monitoring centre or Grade 1 Central Station is a secure facility that monitors commercial and domestic alarm systems and dispatch emergency services such as Police, Fire, Ambulance and other security personnel such as mobile patrol officers to alarm activations. The course covers all of the basic entry level requirements for a Class 1E security licence and is a mandatory requirement for new entrants to the monitoring sector of the security industry.

At the end of this course you will be eligible to apply for a Provisional Licence and will be able to commence work in a monitoring centre. Once you receive your Provisional Licence you have 12 months to complete the additional training required for an unrestricted 1E licence.

PREREQUISITE

  • You must be over 18 years of age, have a good level of spoken and written English skills and be able to use a computer to an intermediate standard. You do not need to have specific software skills as monitoring centres have unique software programs and you will receive specific training in these systems once you commence work. You must also have no criminal convictions in the past 10 years.
  • You must also hold a certificate 1 in Security Operations or equivalent.
